Panthers catch fire with 5 game win streak
The Hartnell Baseball Team did not have the ideal start to the season, but as the season has progressed as the Panthers have brought it all together and are looking to keep their momentum going as they carry a 5 game winning streak. As it stands now, on March 16, 2018 Hartnell is (7-14) for the overall season and undefeated in conference at (4- 0). Catching this run couldn't have come at a better time for the team as they find themselves with every game left in their schedule against a conference rival. Hartnell looks strong facing Gavilan college 3 times in this stretch and winning each encounter 12-5, 9-5, and 9-6. Leading this shift in results at bat are (#16) Kacee Takasaki and (#6) Ryan Clack each with 12 runs, players (#14) JJ Rodriguez, (#13) Ubaldo Romo, and (#11) David Ortiz follow with each having 11 runs for the season. On the mound, Hartnell has only allowed 46 hits within this 5 game stretch allowing the Panthers offense more opportunities at bat. If the Panthers can continue to turn this around, their hopes for a better overall record are looking up. The leadership by Head Coach Travis Babin and the rest of the coaching staff, has been instrumental in instilling motivation and strong character in the team’s progression.
