Panthers continue pursuit for a spark
On February 27, 2018, the Hartnell Baseball team took on Mission College at home, unfortunately losing 11-5. It was a game that seemed to be in the hands of Mission, as they would run up the score 4-0 heading into the top of the 3rd inning. For Hartnell, runs weren't easy to come by, as they would produce most of their runs after the 5th inning. (#16) Kacee Takasaki was at bat 4 times for the day, during which he produced 2 RBIs and one 2b. It was a tough defensive effort, but Mission’s 16 hits, compared to Hartnell's 9 for the day and their ability to make the most of each hit, decided the game. The Panthers would look to try and regain confidence on the road, as they would go and face West Valley the following day on February 28, 2018. Hartnell would again fall 11- 6. This is the second lost to the Vikings, leaving Hartnell with an overall record of 2-14 for the season. Even with (#14) JJ Rodriguez and his sensational effort posting 3 RBIs and a 2b for Hartnell to go along with (#15) Anthony Fashano and his effort on the mound facing 32 batters and only allowing 4 runs. The schedule has 24 games remaining, leaving the Panthers with a need to make a quick turnaround with some victories. Go Panthers!
