Maldonado commits to Kansas Wesleyan
The Hartnell Baseball team would like to announce that Nolan Maldonado has committed to continue his academic and athletic career at Kansas Wesleyan University.
"Nolan Maldonado was a two-year utility man for us on the mound. He pitched for us both out of the bull pen and was called to be a starter at times. Nolan was always a guy you could count on to go out there and compete for his team and get the job done. He is a strike thrower and a guy who can mix three pitches at any time" Head Coach Travis Babin said.
The sophomore left handed out of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, had a successful freshman year as he came into the program and contributed right away. He was fourth on the team in innings pitched with 37 and 2/3, giving up 22 walks and striking out 19 before his season was cut short due to an injury. As a sophomore he was second on the team in innings pitched with 27, giving up 14 walks and striking out 22 hitters, before the season was shut down due to circumstances.
"I will always remember what a great competitor Nolan was on the mound for us. We wish him the best at KWU and look forward to following his career at KWU" Babin said. Nolan will be majoring in Business Management.
The Coyotes are a member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletics Conference (KCAC) and are part of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
