New Women’s Basketball Coach; Jim Rimando
During the summer break, Hartnell basketball hired a new head coach, Jim Rimando. Jim is not new to Hartnell. He has been an assistant coach and recruiter for the Women’s Basketball Program for the past five years. Coach Rimando has 35 years of coaching under his belt along with a few high school championships; however, Coach Rimando now has his eyes set on the Hartnell College Women’s Basketball Program. He hopes to continue to build momentum with the team and to be more ambitious than the previous coaches. “The goal is to win the Coast Conference Championship, but there are other more attainable things for the team in the short term.” stated Coach Rimando. His mission for the next season is to have student-athletes compete and give it all on the court. “I want to teach them to applaud each other, to inspire each other, and to love each other because that is what being a team is about.” With the help of his assistant coaches, Coach Rimando is eager to get the season going and to begin cultivating the abilities of the student-athletes. Stay tuned for the Women's Basketball Season, which will start later on this fall semester. Go Panthers!!
