CLOVIS – Freshman Jose Jimenez Elorza scored his first goal of the season but it wasn't enough for the Clovis Community College men's soccer team to defeat visiting Hartnell College as the Crush fell by a final score of 2-1 to the Panthers on Friday.
Freshman Kempton Duarte was credited with the assist on Elorza's goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Peter Vainauskas played well but took the loss after allowing both goals.
The defeat dropped Clovis to 0-2-1 overall early in the 2023 season. The Crush are back in action on Tuesday (Sep. 12) in search of their first win when they host Foothill College in a 1:30 p.m. non-conference game.
