No. 22 Falcons win two matches at Hartnell Quad

SALINAS – Led by a huge day from sophomore Zoe Ruskofsky, the No. 22 state-ranked Coalinga College women's volleyball team won both its matches at the Hartnell College quad on Friday.

The Falcons opened the event with a 25-16, 25-22, 25-21 sweep of De Anza College and followed that with a 25-19, 22-25, 25-19, 25-19 victory over host Hartnell.

Ruskofsky totaled 31 kills, 15 digs, and 5 aces over the two non-conference matches, including 20 kills and 10 digs in the win against Hartnell.

Macy Ellis also had a big match against Hartnell, tying a season-high with 17 kills to go along with 8 digs. Tiffany Kelton had 21 assists and Sarah Wold posted 20 assists. Aryam Munoz led the Falcons with 13 digs.

In the win over De Anza, Tyra Kelly added 9 kills, Wold led with 18 assists, and Munoz had 7 digs.

The two non-conference wins improved Coalinga to 12-3 overall. The Falcons return to Central Valley Conference action on Wednesday (Oct. 2) when they host Reedley College in a 6 p.m. match.
