Interception Seals Victory for Panthers Against Merced
David Freeman ran for 126 yards and Isaiah Arriola-Randalle threw for three touchdowns leading Hartnell to victory 22-19 at Merced College on Saturday.
The Panthers (5-2, 3-1 conference) got off to a hot start against Merced, and intercepted a pass late in the game to seal the victory.
Quarterback Arriola-Randalle threw for 258 yards on the day and three touchdowns. Jacob Streeter, Angel Olivas, and Emanuel Ortega each caught a touchdown pass for Hartnell.
Freeman leads the state in rushing with 813 total yards, and averages 116.7 yards per game.
Panthers made some big plays on defense. Pablo Villasenor and Jacob Streeter both had interceptions. Streeter's interception with less than a minute to play sealed the victory.
The Panthers are on a three game winning streak and return to action next Saturday Nov. 2 against Monterey Peninsula College at Rabobank Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. The Lobos come in ranked #24 in the state.
