Serrato Named Coast Conference Player of the Year
The Coast Conference has released their 2019 All-Conference selections and the Hartnell Men's Soccer team landed seven on the team including the Conference Player of the Year.
Sophomore Adrian Serrato (Salinas CA, Alisal HS) was named Conference Player of the Year. Serrato led the team in goals with 16 which ranked 7th in the state along with six assists. His 38 points ranked 9th in the state.
Sophomore's Francisco Gonzalez (Watsonville CA, Watsonville HS) and Alex Zamora (Oakdale CA, Oakdale HS), along with Freshman Anthony Rangel (King City CA, King City HS) were named First Team All-Conference. Rangel scored 7 goals, added an assist and 15 points. Gonzalez had a goal, 4 assists and 6 points while playing a solid defense. Zamora was second on the team with eight goals scored, three assists and 19 points.
Sophomore Raul Mago-Padilla (Castroville CA, North Monterey County HS) and Freshman's Vladimir Mendoza (Watsonville CA, Watsonville HS) and Ramiro Vazquez (Salinas CA, Salinas Adult School) were named to the 2nd Team All-Conference.
The #10 Men's Soccer team upset #7 Butte in the First round of the State Playoffs in penalty kicks, before falling to eventual State Champion Fresno City 1-0 in the Second Round. They finished with an overall record of 11-7-3
