Mandujano to Alaska Anchorage
After just four track & field meets in 2020, Jesse Mandujano faced an uncertain athletic future due to the global pandemic. During the next year, Jesse remained committed to his education at Hartnell College and when given the opportunity to return to campus with COVID-19 protocols in place, he was one of the first Panthers back. That decision to return to normalcy provided the starting point for Jesse to enjoy his best track & field season of his career. The 2022 season would see him post personal bests in the 200m (22.75), 400m (50.74), and 400mIH (58.94), and be the leader of both relay teams that earned berths to the Norcal Championship. His leadership was instrumental and making sure Hartnell College won the first available Coast Conference title since the pandemic began.
A graduate of Watsonville High School, Jesse will join 2020 teammate Tim Hunter at the University of Alaska Anchorage on athletic scholarship and compete in both indoor track & field for the first time and outdoor track & field. The University of Alaska Anchorage competes in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and is a NCAA DII affiliate institution.
