Bio

2015-2016 Angel exceled his first year as a Panther. He worked diligently daily and that paid off with a sixth place finish at the Coast Conference Championship and sixteenth place at the Northern California Championship just narrowly missing all-region honors. Angel showed tremendous potential at Woodward Park covering the championship layout in 21:50 in September.

Last spring, Angel showed great range running personal bests from 1500 meters though 10,000 meters. He achieved the State "A" standard at 10,000 meters running 32:36 at the Northern California Championship. Angel scored points for the conference championship team in three events the 1500, 5000, and 10,000 meters. He finished his first track season for the Panthers with bests for 1500 (4:09), 3000 (9:10), 5000 (15:36), and 10,000 (32:36) meters.

Prior to Hartnell: One of the first runners ever to come from Santa Cruz High School to Hartnell, Angel has impoved steadily in cross country earning a berth to the CIF CCS Championship as a senior. His senior year showed tremendous potential as he ran 17:01 at Toro Park in his final race of the fall.

"Angel has done a tremendous job while at Hartnell despite initially having to commute 2 hours daily and then actually moving into town alone to be closer to campus. He's one of our strongest runners overall and he should do extremely well as a sophomore having already exceled on many of the courses as a frosh."
