Bio

2015-2016 Jorge fulfilled much of the hopes for his freshman year. He placed fifth overall at the Coast Conference Championship and second among freshman. At the regional championship, his twelfth place at the Northern California Championship earned him all-region honors and helped the Panthers to a second place finish. Jorge had a good first CCCAA State Championship placing 35th.

In track, Jorge made it the furthest than any other Panther placing eighth in the CCCAA Championship 10,000 meter run (31:54). His time was the ninth best community college mark for freshmen in the nation. He placed third overall in the Northern California Championship 5000 and 10,000 meter runs. Jorge finished his first year with personal bests at 3000 (9:04), 5000 (15:17), and 10, 000 (31:54).

Prior to Hartnell: Jorge was Everette Alvarez's marquee runner his junior and senior year as he was a top 25 CCS finisher both years. His best race came at the Monterey Bay League Championship where he placed second overall in a lifetime personal best at Toro Park in 16:17.

"I have a strong feeling Jorge will have a huge fall his sophomore season. His track season just scratched the surface and he started to see he can run five minute pace pretty easily. He's performed well on all the important courses so with another year of training he could become one of the best in the state."
