Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams ready for State Championships
The Men's and Womens Cross Country teams are ready for State!!!! Both teams qualified after their performances at the Northern California Championships.
The women team finished in 1st place as a team taking home the regional title. Daniela Salazar(2nd), Shantal Martinez(3rd), Valeria Gomez-Lozano(4th), Nerina Campos(5th), Faith Mora(22nd), Mariah Changco(29th), and Joanna Macias(32nd) ran for the Panthers. The team scored a total of 29 points which stands as the second best team total in championship history. The Panthers will head into the CCCAA State Championship on November 23rd having placed first in every meet since the Fresno Invitational where they were second to top ranked Glendale College.
On the men's side, the team finished 4th overall and had some great performances. The team is led by All-Region runners Jesus Avalos(6th) and Isaac Gensel(10th). Rigo Garcia(21st), Jiovanni Garcia(32nd), Alexis Ojeda(40th), Frankie Maciel(42nd), and Joseph Laredo(46th) would round out the runners for the Panthers. The team will compete in the 2019 CCCAA State Championship at historic Woodward Park in Fresno on November 23rd. The men will enter the meet as one of the top 14 ranked teams.
The women's race will begin at 10 a.m. and the men's race will start at 11 a.m.
