Bio

Larry has assisted with the Hatnell College track and field program in some capacity and for different lengths of time since 1995. Most recently, he has served as an assistant coach since 2015 and this fall as an assistant cross country coach as well. Larry assumed 400m hurdle duty last spring guiding two athletes to the Northern California final. This past fall, his presence was instrumental to the success of both the men's and women's cross country programs. The men's team was the regional runner-up while the women won their third Northern California title in the last five years. Larry also served as an assistant coach in 2000-2001 and 1996 and as co-Head Coach in 1995. As a co-Head Coach in 1995, he helped guide Hall of Fame athlete Chrstyna Serrano to the double All-American honors in the 400mLH and long jump. The men's team won the Northern California title and placed second at the state championship. Both men's and women's teams were Coast Conference champions in 1995 as well. In between, 2000 and 2015, Larry served as the main long jump/triple jump official for all Hartnell College home meets.

Larry was a Hartnell College athlete in 1987-1988 competing in a variety of events from the 4x100 meter relay to the 3k steepelchase. Larry graduated from Hartnell College and transferred to San Diego State Univeristy. He's been an Associate Level Long Jump/Triple Jump official since 2009 and recently received his National Level certification in Long Jump/Triple Jump from USA Track & Field. Larry still competes as a Masters Level athlete and has been ranked top 20 in the triple jump three times.
