GCC Softball finishes week with 8-6 win over Hartnell College March 23: Lady Vaqs now 12-10 this season
Arlene Islas hot a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to break a 6-6 tie that proved to be the game winner for the GCC Softball Team in an 8-6 win over Hartnell College March 23. The Lady Vaqs are now 12-10 this season after suffering three losses before the Hartnell win, falling 8-7 to Canyons March 19, dropping a 10-1 decision to L>a. Mission and losing 6-5 to West Hills Coalinga March 22.  
 
Mya Chacon pitched a complete game win for Glendale in the win Saturday with Islas leading the way offensively with three hits including a double and four RBI, Torii Forsberg has two hits and homer in the second game of the day and seven for nine in the doubleheader including four hits in the first game against West Hills with a homer and a double and three RBI.
 
GCC continues WSC South play with a home game Tuesday March 26 at 2:30 pm against L.A. Valley College at the Glendale Sports Complex and plays at Bakersfield College Thursday March 28.
