Ryan Porras helps Saguaros Win Pecos League Title
Former Hartnell College Baseball Pitcher Ryan Porras helped the Tucson Saguaros complete a best of three series sweep to win the 2020 Pecos League Championship. The Saguaros won Game 1 6-5, in which Porras got the start. Game 2 the Saguaros won 7-2 giving them their 2nd Championship in team history.
Porras had a strong showing on the mound this year for the Saguaros in what was his first season of professional baseball. The southpaw appeared in nine games, making five starts. In 21.1 innings pitched, he allowed nine runs on 15 hits while striking out 25 with a 0.67 ERA.
After Porras senior year of collegiate baseball at Lyon College was cut short due to COVID, Porras signed a professional contract with the Tucson Saguaros.
