Hartnell Swim and Dive Won Tri Meet
Hartnell Swim and Dive won their Tri Meet on Friday with De Anza and City College of San Francisco at De Anza.
Swims of the meet were a new school record being set in the 200 Breaststroke by Luca Romeo of Salinas High and well as David Parmely of Monterey High School winning the 400 IM by over 10 seconds.
Other highlights of the meet were Kanyada Doughty of Salinas High winning the 50 Freestyle and 200 Backstroke, Colby Cowden of Trinity Christian winning the 200 Freestyle, Rider Soria of North Salinas High winning the 200 backstroke, Thomas Villalobos of Salinas High taking 2nd in the 200 Breaststroke, and the women winning both the 800 free relay and 200 medley relay. The Hartnell Women's A relay is Luca Romeo and Kanyada Doughty from Salinas High and Cory and Colby Cowden from Trinity Christian.
Yesterday was also the first competition for our divers. Savannah Kennefick of Salinas High took 3rd, Azucena Mendez-Gomez also of Salinas High took 4th, and Ananda Bouchard of SMA Taruna Bakti High School (Indonesia) took 5th.
Hartnell Swim and Dive travels to San Luis Obispo next for the Cuesta Invitational on March 10th and 11th. This is one of the largest invitationals in the state and will be a good chance to see where we stack up against the top competition.
