The Hartnell Baseball team was busy on the basepaths on Thursday knocking 23 hits and cruising to a 17-3 victory over visiting Gavilan. The Panthers jumped out and scored three runs in the 1st, three more in the 2nd, five in the 3rd and two in the 4th, taking the lead 13-2 into the 5th inning. They also added four more runs in the 8th. Offensively Michael Vivo and Tyler Triano each had four hits and they each homered too. Triano in the 4th inning and Vivo in the 8th. Triano doubled, scored four runs with two runs batted. Vivo doubled twice, scored three runs and had five runs batted in. Diego Fisher went 3 for 5 doubled twice, scored four runs and had four runs batted in. Carlos Drain went 3 for 6 with three RBIs. Chris Wright went 2 for 6 tripled and had two RBIs. Isaiah Bueno collected three hits. CJ Drain also collected three hits and scored three runs.
Garrett Poblick got the start on the mound. Javier Rodriguez, Ryan Rivera, Chris Stanton and Wyatt Hankard threw for the Panthers.
The Panthers (7-13, 1-4) will take on Gavilan to conclude their Coast Conference series tomorrow Friday March 13th at Gavilan with a 2:30 p.m. start.
