The Hartnell Men's and Women's Swim Team traveled to City College of San Francisco Friday Feb. 7th and Saturday Feb. 8 to compete in the Rams Invitational. This was a 10-team, two-day meet with some of the top swimmers in the state. The Panther Swim Team stepped up big to the challenge improving on their times across the board. Emily Pacheco raced to first place in the 50 Backstroke and Jeremiah Disimone took first place in the 50 breaststroke. Other point scorers for the Panthers included Mikee Velasquez, Robert Ehlers, Ben Hanneman, Isela Magallon, Viviana Valenzuela, Guadalupe Solis, Brionna Gonzalez, and Lily Castillo Vizcarra.
The Men's team finished 4th overall and the Women's finished 6th. "For a first year returning program this was a great weekend for us. This was our first time in an invitational and on a bigger stage. I was so proud of how the team rose to the challenge and fed off each other. Now it's time to use that energy to get ready for the next one", Coach McKown said.
The Panther Swim team heads to College of San Mateo on Friday February 14 for the Coast Conference Kick Off.
