Freshman De'Antae Williams used his first 100 meters to show why he was CIF State qualifier out of Seaside High School last spring. Running in lane one, Williams had his heat win virtually locked up 30 meters into the race. His winning time of 10.88 was the second fastest of all competitors in the meet and makes the frosh phenom the #17 performer in Hartnell College history after just one race. Although just the second weekend into the 2019 season, the mark stands as the second best in the enitre state for community college sprinters. Williams also anchored the 4x100 meter relay team to a time of 43.40 in the rain along with Tim Hunter, Shraee Harrison, and Isaiah Guerra. Harrison also enjoyed a fine first race on the track. Guerra started his Hartnell career on Friday with his first javelin competition ever. He tossed the javelin 43.82m good for third overall.
