Hartnell Foursome Tries Decathlon
Competing over two days, the foursome of Isaiah Guerra, Jack Fling, Conlyn Pattison, and Julian Resendiz completed their first full decathlon at home as part of the first ever Gary Shaw Multi-Event and 10k Qualifier. The first day events included the 100 meters, long jump, shot put, high jump, and 400 meters. The second day concluded with 110 meter hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin, and the 1500 meter run. Guerra won the 100 meters (11.90), long jump (6.03m), shot put (9.29m), 400m (56.31), diiscus (28.10m) and javelin (44.33m). He totaled 4640 points to best teammate Jack Fling who had 4602 points. Fling won the high jump (1.84m), 110 hurldes (18.87), and pole vault (3.65m).
In the men's 10,000 meter run, Nicholas Merillana ran 33:22.80 followed by teammate Alfredo Mejia, Jr. in 33:49.30. Raul Lazaro also competed in 40:37.30.
The Panthers will compete next on Friday, February 22 at the DVC Hall of Fame Classic.
