2015-2106 Willie showed tremendous potential in his first cross country season as a Panther. His eighth place finish in 21:12 at Lou Vasquez was his fastest race of the season. Willie went on to earn all-conference honors placing ninth overall at the Coast Conference Championship. He also ran well at Toro Park covering the course in 21:45.

Prior to Hartnell: A member of the CIF State Division IV runner-up team, Willie has been a high performer at the league, section and state level. As a junior he placed 3rd overall at the MTAL championship trailing only his two teammates.

"Willie showed tremendous potential his freshman year especially finishing so high up at Lou Vasquez. His experience at Toro Park showed in our races there. He didn't run track last spring but his training is quickly catching up for that lost time. When fit, Willie could be an all-region guy."
