Bio

Freshman Year:  Leo competed in several meets his first season with his best performance coming at the Norcal Preview/Think Pink meet at Shasta College. He was 33rd overall at his first Coast Conference Championship. In the spring, Leo had limited competition but did post a 4:58 1500m time. 

Priro to Hartnell:  Brother to former Panther Sergio Coronel, Leonardo begins his Hartnell career after four years of cross country at Salinas High School. Leonardo placed in the MBL JV Championship as a senior. 

"I've told Leo what he needs to do better this season and so far he's doing it. He's got a lot of heart and we he applies it correctly I can see a higher level of ability come out. I'm trying to get him to focus on the foundations for success in distance running one of which is training consistently. He had a good summer so we should see an advanced starting point from the first race on and plenty of time to run a lot of personal bests. "
