Bio

Freshman Year: Arturo competed in every meet until the Coast Conference Championshp when a late season injury prevented him from competing. He did 26th overall the Toro Park Invitational and 46th at the Norcal Preview/Think Pink Meet at Shasta College. He posted a season best four mile performance of 22:06 there. In the spring, Arturo did lower his 800 meter personal best and competed in both the 800m and 1500m at the Coast Conference Championship.

Prior to Hartnell: Arturo competed just down the street from Hartnell at Palma High School. A frequent visitor to the Hartnell track, Arturo placed eighth as a senior in the Monterey Bay League Championship and recorded a solid 17:39 run at Woodwad Park at the Clovis Invitational. Arturo only competed in cross country his final two years for the Chietains.

"We are focusing specifically on staying healthy this whole year with Arturo. I strongly feel he is a guy who can become a big impact runner both fall and spring if he answers the health question. He started slowly this summer to avoid overtrainning and is really starting to look good heading into our first meets of the year. With his long stride, he could eat up much of the course before anyone realizes what happened."
