Six Panthers Named to All-State Academic XC Team
Six members of the 2019 men's cross country team were named to the CCCAA All-State Cross Country Academic Team. Those recieving the honor for earning a 3.50 GPA or higher during the 2019 cross country season were Isaac Gensel, Joseph Loredo, Francisco Maciel, Luis Meza, Jackson Schenone, and James Young. Hartnell College had the second most student-athletes to receive the honor with six. Mt. SAC lead the way with seven student-athletes receiving the honor.
Freshman Isaac Gensel not only enjoyed success in the classroom but over hill and dale as well. His tenth place finish at the Northern California Championship earned his All-Region honors. He was also the third place finisher at the Coast Conference Championship and highest placing freshman for the Panthers at the CCCAA Championship in 24th place.
Joseph Loredo enjoyed a solid freshman year earning All-Coast Conference for his 13th place finish. Francisco Maciel was 17th overall the Coast Conference Championship and was the second freshman for the Panthers at the Fresno Invitational in 22:18. Luis Meza produced an early season 22:22 at Woodward Park. Jame Young was 22nd overall at the Coast Conference Championship marking the second time he has placed in the top 22. Jackson Schenone showed early promise in summer conditioning but was hampered by recurring injuries during the fall season.
