History is made! Women’s Soccer: Coast Conference Champions
On Sunday November 13, 2016 the Lady Panthers hosted the game for the Coast Conference South Division title. The Panthers faced Cabrillo College for the title and they came a away with 3-0 victory. The team had a strong start by scoring two goals, one by Chace Miguel and Priscilla Ruiz who also had an assist. In the second half, Chace Miguel added her second goal to secure the game. Monique Paniagua made two saves on goal to ensure the shutout. Vanessa Moreno and Maritza Trujillo each had one assist. The win gave the Lady Panthers a boost. This is the first time in Hartnell's history that the Women's Soccer Program earned a conference title. Previously, on November 4, 2016 the Hartnell Women's Soccer team traveled to Skyline College and faced the Trojans. The Lady Panthers defeated Skyline with a score of 5-2. Hartnell led the game in the first half with three goals, two by Norma Verduzco and the last one by Megan Herzog. Then in the second half the Trojans scored two goals with 15 minutes left in the game. In an exciting turn of events in the last minutes of the game, Norma Verduzco scored a goal on a corner kick, and Monique Paniagua followed adding a goal to close the game. Goals were assisted by Chace Miguel (3), Diana Lopez and Maritza Trujillo. Congratulations on all your achievements and keep the momentum going!
