Another State Auto for Ruelas in Sacramento
Competing at the Sacramento State Hornet Invitational for the first time in several years, the Hartnell College women's team saw several important persona bests in the large invitational featuring schools representing all level from two year community colleges to four year universities.
Sophomore Monica Ruelas managed to lower her lifetime best in the 1500 meter run to 4:52.46 to become the sole female in Northern California to be eligible for the CCCAA State Championship. Aguilar also leads the Panthers over the full lap with a season best 1:01.73. Sophomore Maria Aceves lowered her lifetime best in the 1500 meters to 5:08.15 which will ranked her in the top 7 in Northern California. Shaelynne Smith set a 100 meter season best of 13.59 just an hour after her 17.10 in the 100 meter hurdles. Anesa Vanderlipe had a season best long jump of 4.76 meters in preparation for the heptathlon in a month.
