Bio

Freshman Year: James nearly earned all-conference in his first season of cross country with the Panthers. He was 19th at the Coast Conference Championship. His best fall performance was a 22:36 performance at the Pat Ryan Invitational. In the spring, James competed across all distances ranging from 800m to 5000m. He ran a lifetime best in the 800m at the Coast Conference Prelims.

Prior to Hartnell: James comes to Hartnell College from St. Francis (Watsonville) where he was coached by former Hartnell standout Ramona Young. James only ran two seasons of cross country, is sophomore and senior years. As a sophomore, James qualified to the CIF State Championship at Woodward Park.

"James has shown great initiative since joining us this summer for conditioning. He comes from a small school so having additional teammates of all abilities is helping him develop quickly. He's got great leg speed so it will only be a matter of time when the endurance portion of our training kicks in and he sees some amazing times."
